So excited to share my latest project, the Fresh From the Farm Coloring Book! This was by far my biggest personal project of the year and something I'd been thinking about for many months before being able to work on it.
After completing my first-ever coloring book for The Press Hotel last summer, I was really inspired to create my own. Using my 2014 illustration, "Support Your Local Farmer" as a jumping-off point, I decided on a month-to-month theme about all of the different things you can buy from your local farmer year-round. I also wanted an opportunity to practice my hand-lettering, which proved to be both fun and challenging - to come up with 13 different styles of lettering for the pages and cover.
It's my hope that this will be a fun way to get kids thinking about not only the importance of supporting local farmers, but where their food and products come from - which is why I wanted to illustrate both a product and its source on each page.
The book has full color covers and 12 hand-drawn black and white pages - all printed on FSC-certified paper in Farmington, Maine. Click here to check it out in my Etsy shop!
