Bumble Bees Like These!

I am super excited to share some news today: I’ve illustrated a second picture book, and it’s out now! This is an extra special project because it’s a collaboration with my mom who authored it. We’ve been talking about this book for years now - inspired by our shared love of plants and bees.

BUMBLE BEES LIKE THESE introduces colors of the rainbow and features fourteen different plants from borage to sunflowers to zinnias. Illustrations were painted in gouache with digital colored pencil details, and were all based on photographs we’ve taken of bumble bees pollinating flowers in our yards here in southern Maine.

Here is the official book description:

What kinds of flowers do bumble bees like? Follow the bees and see in this cheerful story featuring colorful illustrations and common plant names. Introduce young children to colors of the rainbow as they find bees buzzing along to many different plants, sparking curiosity about little details in the natural world around them.

After working on the final artwork throughout the entirety of last year, it’s pretty surreal to have the actual books here in my studio! They were printed in the USA through Indie Authors Publishing, and are available in my shop here and in their bookshop here.

We have a poster version of the artwork available here and a sticker pack here. You can also find free printable coloring pages here!
